Project Alpha

Project Alpha is the first fully operational moonbase on the lunar surface. The DASA planned this for years and from 2041 to 2049 this moonbase was contructed. It has it's own powerplant with a rotating violent reaction reactor using Helium3 and Lunarnium (both found on the moon), an airfactory, a transferium, an mass airlock and livingquarters. It' would be the first stap to the far side of the galaxy.
As a tribute to the earlier astronauts, there is a Lunarlander Expo were the first Dutch Lunarlanders are on display.

Crew comments:

The show in Frechen (D) early 2008 was a big succes. There were so many people wanting to see the LEGO that the line outside was a few hundred metres long. This was because of the regulations of the local fire department. Only a certain amount of people were allowed in the building at the same time. The owner and editor of BrickJournal (Joe Meno) was there and he loved our layout so much that he interviewed us for an article in the BrickJournal (BJ-7-V2).

It was also the first Moonbase layout were we showed our extended Moonbase Standard, Moonbase+.

During a meeting Marco is at his best. The stories he tells are made up as he speaks and the children love them. It’s a constant opening and closing of the modules giving the children (and parents) a peak inside.
